A few weeks ago I had car trouble. The trouble was much bigger than I initially thought and I ended up needing to either replace the motor or buy a new car. The age of the car made it not really worthwhile for me to replace the engine. It would have cost just a little less than the car was worth. I decided to replace it. I was without a car for about a week. I would carpool with my wife or borrow my daughter’s car to get back & forth to work. Ultimately, my wife’s parents lent us their car to use while they were out of town and that eased the suffering. Every spare minute I would pour through the listings on Craigslist, Carsoup and Autotrader to see what was available. We found some very interesting offerings and were looking seriously at a few. After about a week we found the one and bought it. We were finally done dealing with the headache of trying to replace the car.
During this time, my mower broke. I was just starting to mow the yard when the deck belt came off. I shut the mower down and put it back on only to have it immediately come off again. I was unable to finish mowing the grass and took the mower back to the house. It took me about three days to eventually replace the deck belt and in the process of replacing that I realized that there was a bracket that was bent and it was actually the reason the belt wouldn’t stay on. I fixed that only to have the steering break. After a couple more days, I finally got the mower running and by then the grass was really tall. When I finally got it cut, it looked like I might have to bail it.
The following week, my wife was going out of town for a work related trip to California. You would have thought that would have given me time to write but sadly, it didn’t. It seemed like I was busier than ever and finding the time to write was getting harder. We are now settled down and everything seems to be functioning normally. Back to normal. It’s been a couple of weeks since my last post and I wanted to take a minute to let you know what’s going on. I’ve missed it and I’ve missed you all. I will do my best moving forward to be consistent but just wanted to touch base about my reason for being absent.
Thanks again to all of you who are faithful readers. I appreciate you more than you know. I’m always glad when you reach out and I look forward to hearing from you when you do.
Sincerely,
Art
